Sunward™ Solar Hot Water System
Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions
Sunward expressly warrants your new Solar Hot Water System and its components against defects in materials or workmanship when put to ordinary and normal use and service and when operated and serviced in strict accordance with Sunward’s published Installation Instructions and User’s Information Manual for a limited period. For the purposes of all the above warranties, “ordinary use and service” does not include damage due to inadequate maintenance.
Sunward limits the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness in duration to a period of not less than one (1) year.
Heat Exchanger:
The Heat Exchanger including the pump and motor carry a ten (10) year limited warranty. From year to year these costs may be adjusted proportionately. The warranty is applicable from the date the system ships from our factory. If the residence is sold, the warranty will transfer ownership, however, all heat exchangers carry a ten (10) year limited warranty from the date the system ships from our factory based on the heat exchanger serial number.
Solar Collectors:
The Solar Collectors carry a twenty (20) year limited warranty. During the last ten (10) years of the twenty year warranty period, the warranty coverage shall be limited to the percentage of repair or replacement cost noted in the table at right. From year to year these costs may be adjusted proportionately. The warranty is applicable from the date the system ships from our factory. If the residence is sold, the warranty will transfer ownership, however, all solar collectors carry a twenty (20) year limited warranty from the date the system ships from our factory based on the solar collector serial numbers.

Solar Tank:
The Solar Tank carries a ten (10) year limited warranty. The warranty is applicable from the date the system ships from our factory. If the residence is sold, the warranty ownership will transfer, however, all solar tanks carry a ten (10) year limited warranty from the date the system ships from our factory based on the solar tank serial number.
Exception to Limited Warranty:
This limited warranty will not apply unless the installation tasks designated as “Professional Only” in the publication “Sunward Installation Guidelines” are actually performed by a licensed or qualified plumber in accordance with Sunward’s recommendations and in compliance with all industry standards, national, state and local codes.
The warranty holder is responsible for replacement of the heat transfer fluid (Glycol) as required. During the warranty period, the warranty holder is responsible for any system transportation charges, if required. During the warranty period, warranty parts will ship by standard method at no charge to the warranty holder. Expedited shipping of warranty parts is the responsibility of the warranty holder. The cost of field inspection and labor are not covered by this warranty. Sunward shall not be liable for damages or delay caused by defective material or workmanship, or for personal injuries or damage caused by use or operation of this product.
During the ten (10) year warranty period, Sunward shall cover the costs of repair or replacement of your Solar Pump and Motor when returned to Sunward.
SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON THE LENGTH OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
Sunward shall not be liable under any circumstances for any incidental or consequential damages or expenses of any kind, including, but not limited to, damage to your home, loss of time, or loss of use of the product.
SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU HAVE OTHER RIGHTS, WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.
